Candidate Source is hiring a Special Services Specialist for a wholesale apparel distributor in Ashland, VA. This hands-on role combines sewing and garment modifications with specialty order fulfillment, quality control, and administrative support. Previous sewing machine experience is required.
$18.50 per hour
Monday through Friday
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Measure garments and complete custom apparel modifications using a sewing machine.
Process specialized apparel orders accurately and efficiently.
Package and gift-wrap customer orders, corporate gifts, and new customer packets.
Maintain department records, inventory information, and customer data within internal systems.
Assemble color swatch samples and presentation materials.
Operate department equipment, including swatch presses, grommet punches, and paper cutters.
Coordinate with leadership and account executives to resolve order discrepancies.
Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email as needed.
Ensure completed orders meet quality and presentation standards.
Previous sewing machine experience is required.
Ability to take accurate garment measurements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Comfortable using computer systems and maintaining detailed records.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
Someone who takes pride in producing accurate, polished work.
This is a hands-on specialty apparel role that combines sewing and garment modifications with order fulfillment, packaging, and administrative tasks. You'll work with both apparel and computer systems throughout the day, with a strong focus on accuracy, craftsmanship, and presentation.
